Spain has made some technological advances in the past few years with using digital databases to help process, solicit, and download legal documents. As a Language Assistant on a Student Visa you are entitled to use these services to help obtain the necessary documents for your time here in Madrid. Two of these services that can be accessed digitally are the CL@VE and the DIGITAL CERTIFICATE; these two platforms allow you to access documents such as your EMPADRONADO, DELITOS SEXUALES, SOCIAL SECURITY, IMMIGRATION, TAXES, and much more. With COVID limiting in person appointments at many government offices these two services can benefit you with saving time and possible exposure. Following these steps will help you move forward with your paperwork.

Working with children in Spain requires that you obtain a document called “DELITOS SEXUALES.” This document serves that you have no background or convictions of you working with children in Spain. Luckily this document is obtainable both in person by cita previa (appointment) or by online using the CL@VE portal. This document will have to be shared with your Language Assistance Program and your school for you to work with children. Please note that obtaining this document is free but can take some time for you to obtain it. There will be a deadline for submitting it to your school and program.Your TIE is crucial for your time in Madrid as a participant of any Language Assistance Program. Having a valid TIE will allow you to obtain necessary documents needed for your time in Madrid and Spain. If you currently possess an invalid TIE some of the necessary documents will not be available for you to obtain. Depending on Registros and government workers you may be able to proceed with some of these documents but be aware it is not always possible. If you are a first year LA participant and have never obtained a card, most programs will provide you with the necessary guides for obtaining your TIE. If they don't please refer to this guide as a way finding success. If you are a returning Language Assistant you should have already begun the TIE Renewal Process.
